A signature is only as strong as everything around it. Delivery to a secure postbox proves
the request arrived. A qualified signature proves who signed it. Penneo delivers both.

The request is addressed by CPR or CVR number and placed in the recipient’s e-Boks — not sent to an email address that may be wrong, stale, or filtered.

The signer authenticates with their own eID. Penneo is a Qualified Trust Service Provider on the EU Trust List, supporting qualified and advanced signatures.
Proves who signed, to eIDAS standard
Evidence.
Delivery, opening, signing and completion are recorded as events on the same file, stored in your Penneo archive with a tamper-proof audit trail.

Deliverability you don’t control
Spam filters, corporate gateways and full mailboxes decide whether your request arrives. You find out when nothing happens.

An unexpected email asking for MitID is exactly what people
are warned about. Legitimate requests pay the price.
Wrong or missing addresses
Email addresses go stale, get mistyped, and are sometimes
simply not on file. A CPR or CVR number is validated.

a phone call, and a deadline that slips.

Do I need the signer’s email address?
No. e-Boks delivery is addressed by CPR number for private individuals or CVR number for companies.
Does this replace email delivery?
No. e-Boks is an additional communication channel that you choose per signer. Email remains available for all signers who need it, including signers outside Denmark.
What does the signer receive?
Two messages in their e-Boks mailbox: the signing request and a confirmation once the document has been signed by all parties.
How does the signer actually sign?
Same as always. They open the request in e-Boks and sign with their MitID in the browser. No change to the signing experience.
